When I first saw the official first image for Jumanji 2, a prequel sequel reboot of the original Robin Williams film, I was extremely skeptical. There was even a brouhaha about Karen Gillans skimpy outfit, though producers of the film promised that everything would be explained in the film. They were right. The outfit was explained and fits with the theme and the environment of the film. I liked the beginning of the trailer and the premise of going into a video game more than actually seeing that premise realized. I am not downing Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle for being inventive. I like the use of avatars and the fish out of water screenplay device. I just wish Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle was more TRON than Pixels.
